US trade press says EV charger buildout is not keeping pace with demand, Romania's network expands fast while utilisation stays low, Hawaiian Electric reports charging use climbing, and China's holiday charging energy jumped 49% into a peak-load highway grid. None is a stall-count story: the scarce variable is metered energy delivered per stall per hour of uptime, which registrations and charger counts miss. Falsified if kWh per stall is flat or falling where stalls are added, or if the US shortfall proves to be permitting and grid make-ready rather than energy throughput.

A network growing quickly while utilisation stays low is the mechanism's falsifier sitting in the open: expansion headlines measure capex, not service, and only metered kWh per stall separates building from selling energy.

The US trade press stating the constraint is throughput rather than charger count is the claim in plain words: infrastructure that fails when used is precisely the gap between stalls counted and kilowatt-hours delivered, which a stall-count series cannot see.

A 49% holiday energy surge against a peak-load highway grid shows the binding limit is simultaneous kilowatts on one feeder at a rest area, so corridor-level session and load data price expansion well before vehicle sales do.

A utility, not an automaker, reporting charging growth is a metered demand read on an isolated grid: the same delivered-kWh variable the buildout stories never measure, and the one that decides whether a stall repays its make-ready cost.
