STORM-GEOMATICSManage supplier listing

Survey-grade fused fluvial geospatial data for UK rivers, captured and held by the contractor rather than by the asset owner: centimetre-accurate high-resolution 3D point clouds covering channel, banks, floodplains and structures, acquired by integrating hydrographic (bathymetric), topographic and remote-sensing sensors so that above- and below-water surface are captured in one consistent asset. Delivered as a four-stage modular system (baseline high-resolution point cloud, then a DTM stage and further modules), designed to feed 1D/2D/3D hydraulic models, BIM, GIS and asset-management workflows. The licensable inference: each survey campaign also produces the scarce paired product — an above-and-below-water elevation model of the same river reach at a known epoch, which across repeat visits becomes a change-detection archive on channel form, sediment routing, berm and embankment condition, and low-flow channel geometry. That is the asset the client usually cannot hold or re-use.

Format
Geospatial — LiDAR/bathymetric point cloud, derived digital terrain models and 3D visualisation assets, delivered in GIS/BIM-compatible formats; no public open-data feed
Volume
Not published. Bounded from the stated centimetre-accuracy requirement: fused bathymetric-plus-topographic river surveys at that resolution run to order 10^3-10^4 points per square metre, so a few tens of kilometres of surveyed river with floodplain easily implies order 10^9-10^10 points per campaign and multi-terabyte raw archives. For a ~33-person firm, cumulative coverage is plausibly hundreds of river-kilometres across the UK rather than basin-scale national coverage — the archive is therefore shallow in geographic extent but extremely fine in resolution.
Users
No registered users — a project-delivery survey and consultancy firm with no accounts or platform audience; clients are asset owners (environment agency, local authorities, water and rail utilities) and engineering consultants commissioning per-reach surveys. Organisational scale stated instead: roughly 33 staff against a recorded revenue band near 0.67M GBP, i.e. a small specialist survey firm rather than a data platform

Growth
Active and productising: the RDT® is being pushed as a trademarked, four-stage modular system where clients buy any module independently, with marketing video and case-study/resource infrastructure around it, and the site's media assets are current to 2026. This is a firm converting a services capability into a repeatable data product — the right moment to discuss licensing, because the incentive to monetise held data is rising. Counterweight: revenue scale remains small.
Launched
est. 2023-2026 for the River Digital Twin® as a named, trademarked product (inferred from current-2026 marketing assets and the recent trademark positioning), sitting on top of an older bathymetric and topographic survey practice that predates it; the firm's own founding year is not printed on this page and should be taken from its company page
