Passive space-based radio-frequency detection and geolocation of vessels — emissions from onboard communications and navigation equipment captured by a low-Earth-orbit smallsat constellation and converted into geolocation coordinates, timestamps, and RF parameters. The product is a vessel position derived without AIS or any onboard reporting: multiband RF collection in a single pass, all-weather, 24/7, global and beyond coastal-range limits, at kilometre-level geolocation accuracy with low latency. Ships are detected and characterised from their own emissions, so the dataset covers vessels that have disabled or manipulated AIS. A companion Tip & Cue layer records where an RF detection triggered a targeted follow-on observation from optical, SAR, hyperspectral, AIS/VMS/LRIT and other maritime systems.
