GARDNER INTELLIGENCEManage supplier listing
A proprietary monthly survey panel of North American durable-goods and discrete-parts manufacturing plants, running since 2011. Each month the firm canvasses tens of thousands of facilities and harvests about 600 responses, asking each plant to report direction of change on nine dimensions: new orders, production, backlog, employment, exports, supplier deliveries, material prices, prices received, and future business expectations. Every respondent is tagged on four firmographic axes — process, industry, region and plant size — and results are published for every combination with the respondent count behind each cell. The same instrument captures each plant's planned capital-equipment spend for the next twelve months as a per-plant average. Alongside it: separate monthly diffusion indices for metalworking, finishing, moldmaking and composites; an annual capital-spending survey drawing on a subscriber base described at roughly 65,000; a top-performing-shop benchmarking study across operations, technology, strategy and workforce; an industrial buying-influence study on how equipment purchase decisions are made; and a world machine tool database covering production, consumption, imports and exports across 54 countries from 2001 onward.
