NOX Energy BV

NOX ENERGY BVManage supplier listing

Residential thermal-asset control telemetry and flexibility response data from a live aggregation of household heat pumps, solar panels and home batteries — over 10,000 connected assets today, in Belgium and the Netherlands. The platform steers heat pumps within per-household temperature comfort bounds in response to wholesale prices, negative-price hours, grid congestion and balancing signals, using 24-hour-ahead forecasting and weather-predictive control, and integrates directly with inverter and heat-pump manufacturer interfaces rather than through added hardware. What this generates continuously: interval telemetry from every connected heat pump and solar inverter; the control decision taken at each interval together with the household's declared comfort bounds; the realised indoor-temperature trajectory under each control action; solar curtailment and pre-heating events with their duration and the market condition that triggered them; response behaviour under dynamic and day-ahead tariffs including negative-price periods; and manufacturer-specific device behaviour across multiple hardware brands. The genuinely scarce object is the thermal-response layer: how a real dwelling cools and heats under real control actions, per construction type, heat-pump model and weather condition. That is the physical parameter grid operators and flexibility-market designers need and cannot obtain from smart-meter data alone, which shows only consumption, never the causal response to an intervention.

Type

Format
Interval device telemetry (heat-pump and inverter registers), weather and price inputs, and control-event records — tabular time series at device level, ingested from manufacturer interfaces and a consumer application
Volume
est. 10,000-plus assets at interval resolution: at 5-minute granularity per device that is roughly 10 million readings per day across the estate, or on the order of 4 billion per year, plus control-event, curtailment and comfort-bound records. Modest in absolute terms for an industrial data asset, but the thermal-response content is dense and rare per record.
Users
Over 10,000 connected assets stated on the company's own site, reached through supplier partnerships rather than direct marketing, so households and devices are close to one-to-one; the connected-asset count is the meaningful base and it is explicitly published
History
2 years
Update frequency

Growth
Active and funded — a recent 3.4 million dollar seed round explicitly to expand beyond Belgium and the Netherlands, deepen manufacturer and supplier integrations and scale European infrastructure, with 10,000-plus assets already live and three named supplier partnerships in market.

Launched
est. 2023-2024 — the Belgian company registry number and the recent seed round place the founding in the early 2020s, and the current-generation web build plus an early-beta compensation programme indicate a service in market for roughly two years rather than a decade
