ClassLink

CLASSLINKManage supplier listing

The largest single view of what students actually do on school-owned devices. ClassLink's SSO layer authenticates roughly 25 million students and staff into 6,000+ apps across 3,000+ school systems, and its Analytics+ tier captures domain-level records for every website accessed on a school-owned device — including resources launched outside ClassLink — as sessions with app, domain, date, time and minutes-used, rolled up to district, school, grade, classroom and individual student. Around it sit three derived assets: Screen Time, which classifies device time into district-selected learning categories and scores session quality (healthy vs interrupted vs off-task, expected-hours adherence); Insights, which joins app usage to student assessment scores to produce per-tool, per-student-group learning-gain estimates; and licence/spend data by domain. Roster Server adds demographics (English learner, disability, economically disadvantaged) as joinable attributes on every session.

Format
Tabular session and event data (app, domain, timestamp, minutes, user/school/grade keys) with categorical learning-category labels, exportable via SFTP and CSV; assessment-score pair tables for the Insights product; roster/demographic attribute tables. Aggregation level is selectable from district down to individual student.
Volume
Est. tens of billions of session/domain events per year. Basis: ~25M users x ~180 school days x tens of domain hits per user per day easily exceeds 10 billion rows; the nearest published comparable in this category (a competitor's report over 3.7M students in one year) counted 64 billion interactions, implying a per-student rate that at ClassLink's installed base scales well past that. The Screen Time layer additionally stores minute-level, category-labelled device time — the highest-fidelity component.
Users
~25 million students and staff across 3,000+ school systems (vendor-stated, repeated across current product, news and solution pages); an earlier industry-association listing records 18M students in 2,400+ districts, which brackets the growth trajectory. Individual SSO logins at a single large district are cited at about 55,000 per day as a health check.

Growth
Active and feature-heavy — a CLON26 conference rollout announced 24 new capabilities across access, automation and analytics; Analytics+ and Screen Time were merged into one unified interface; Screen Time became included at no extra cost to Analytics+ customers; an AI support assistant was added to the analytics product; and installed base grew from the 18M/2,400-district figure in an older directory listing to the current 25M/3,000+.
Launched
Analytics+ launched 2022 (recognized at that year's EdTech Digest awards as Best Emerging Technology Solution); the unified single-interface Analytics platform was announced for early 2024 at the vendor's CLAS 2023 event; Insights (usage-to-outcomes) and Screen Time were announced at CLON26 (2026). The underlying SSO/rostering platform is roughly a decade older, giving the identity and login corpus long depth.
