Block-group-level U.S. household expenditure and retail-demand database in three linked parts: (1) Consumer Expenditure — ~19 top-level categories down to 4-level hierarchical detail (e.g. Total → FB Food & Beverage → FB1 Food At Home → FB106 Dairy → FB10604 Cheese), 396 base variables, aggregate and per-household, current plus projected year; (2) Retail Potential — average-household and total market potential for 64 NAICS-defined retail store types; (3) Retail Gap — expenditure-minus-sales balance per area at 3/4/5-digit NAICS, signed as 'Leakage' (residents spend elsewhere) or 'Surplus' (area imports outside shoppers). Built by pooling multi-year BLS Consumer Expenditure Survey rotating panels (~7,500 households/quarter) and aligning them to Census merchandise-line and retail-trade surveys, then demographically re-weighting down to block groups.
